Montauk is a magical place. It is a smorgasbord for anyone who loves life. Surrounded by miles and miles of beautiful white, sandy ocean beach one can’t help but feel relaxed and rejuvenated after a week-end stay in the Village. Whether you are one or ninety-nine years young, one can always find something to love in Montauk.

Many know Montauk for being the fishing capital of the world, especially catching the huge bass or blue fish. For seafood lovers, it’s one of the best in the country. Many come to visit the oldest working Lighthouse in New York, The Montauk Point Lighthouse commissioned by President George Washington in 1796, 218 years ago. Situated at the furthest point of Long Island, there are bumper stickers saying “The End” or “The Beginning of The End.” One can’t help but feel part of nature when looking out into the horizon of the Atlantic Ocean. People from all walks of life: bicyclists, joggers, surfers, bird watchers, seal watchers, whale watchers, horse lovers, golfers and artists come to find their passion.

Won’t you join in tl1e fun and come every Saturday, starting May 24th until Labor Day. I promise that you won’t be disappointed. All proceeds go to the Church’s Building Fund. Thanks to the generous donations from the community’s businesses and local residents and the shoppers, a much needed elevator is being built under the leadership of Reverend William Hoffmann.

For those who would like to donate please check the web site www.montaukcommunitychurch.org or call 631-668-2022, or send a check to Montauk Community Church P.O. Box 698, Montauk, NY 11954 in care of Women’s Guild. See you there!
