Spring is trying to spring but winter is holding on with a vengeance. Thankfully the weather is finally starting to improve, and the time to go fishing is right around the corner. The Striped Bass are on the move and despite the cooler, windy conditions they have been coming by the Point and more on on the way, it has begun!!
The Striped Bass regulations will remain the same with the slot limit at 28”-31” one fish per person. Again these are the regulations but feel free to just take what you need for supper and release the rest. This time of year especially is the fun time to catch them on light tackle with the diamond jigs, ronzies, buck tails with a red pork rind. These lures are great for catch & release because the lure is rarely swallowed, instead just catches the corner of their mouths. Take a quick pic and thrust the Bass head first straight down into the water, this technique triggers their swim instinct and they’ll head straight down!

Good news on the Black Sea Bass regulations! This year it’s going to be 16” length 3 per angler, then September first it goes to 6 per angler.
Fluke regulations will remain the same as the previous year. Opened May 1. Bag limit 3 fish @ 19” then August 2 the length goes to 19.5” bag limit remains the same.

The School Tuna regulations are not out yet at this time, last year the regulations came out literally at the last minute. Supposedly as of now you can take 1 Bluefin 27”-73” per day, per vessel. We will keep everyone posted as soon as we hear anything different.
The time is now to get your reservations in order to get the dates you want. If you own your own boat check all your safety equipment & tackle because it’s that time again!! 2026 here we go!!!
