MVA Honors Three Montauk Ladies

This year’s annual Montauk Village Association’s (MVA) Greenery Scenery Event was a sold out event mainly because of the three inspirational Montauk women that were honored. With over three hundred guests in attendance, Frances Ecker, Alice Houseknecht and Edna Steck were feted in grand style at the 56th annual event. Despite the less than perfect weather that evening, enthusiastic party goers ate, danced and mingled and participated generously in both the live and silent auctions. Lenny DeFina was the evening’s volunteer auctioneer for the live items offered. The money raised at this and other MVA events throughout the year go towards the beautiful of our beloved seaside village. The MVA is Montauk’s oldest non-profit civic organization directed by a group of dedicated volunteers. They also give out scholarships to local school children towards college expenses.

Held at the elegant Montauk Lake Club & Marina, a stately, castle-like complex, with sprawling grounds overlooking the water, guests are always guaranteed a cocktail reception with never ending delicacies at various stations and several open bars. Servers were continually passing scrumptious hor d’oeuvres and appetizers the entire evening. The Montauk Lake Club, a non-equity, privately owned, private club that certainly knows how to host a wonderful party on their grounds! Congratulations Frances Ecker, Alice Houseknecht and Edna Steck and thank you for all that you have done and continue to do for Montauk!
