Go east on 27 to end of long island. this 724 acre park at the site of the Montauk Point Lighthouseoffers breathtaking views off the sea. Block Island South, and Block Island to the northeast is great for bbird watching year round and seal watching in the winter months. Trail map available at the toll booths. The park has surfacsgin, a restaurant, five miles of marked and unmarked hiking trails, a picnic area with tables, a playground, a gift shop and restrooms. Daily parking costs $6. The Montauk Point Lighthouse, a museum run by the Montauk Historical Society, is open to the public daily in season.
