At ARF Hamptons This Month: July 2025

ANIMALS OF THE MONTH

ZION:Zion is a 4-year-old sweetheart who survived the tragic fire this spring that destroyed his home at the Happy Cat Sanctuary. Despite all he’s been through, Zion has remained gentle, observant, and hopeful for a fresh start. With his soft gaze and quiet nature, he may be a little timid at first, but once he feels safe, his affectionate side shines—especially when chin rubs are involved! Zion loves lounging by the window, bird-watching, and soaking up the sun. He enjoys the company of other cats and would thrive in a calm, cat-friendly home. Due to his sensitive nature, a home without dogs or young children would be the best fit.

SCOOBY: Adorable Scooby was rescued from the meat trade in China in 2019. His traumatic past left him very shy and slow to trust, but he has a gentle heart and a sweet soul. After arriving at ARF, he found a loving home, but sadly, his adopter passed away, and Scooby is now back with us. It breaks our hearts to see him so sad. Scooby needs a quiet, patient home where he can come out of his shell in his own time. A securely fenced yard is a must, and while he may enjoy the company of another calm dog, a home without young children is best. With time, patience, and plenty of love, Scooby will blossom into a loyal and loving companion. He’s about to celebrate his 10th birthday—we hope it’s in a forever home of his own.

ARF Hamptons Hosts Brand-New Summer Event: “Rescues & Rosé”

ARF (the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons) hosted its first Rescues and Rosé summer event, a Soirée in the Hamptons where guests can meet and cuddle rescue dogs and sip Rosé.  The event was hosted by the ARF Young Professionals Committee and held at the ARF campus in East Hampton.  Complete with local wineries Wölffer Estate and Channing Daughters featuring an open bar, beer from Kidd Squid Brewing Co. specialty cocktails and full open liquor bar for those that opt out of wine, guests also enjoyed live music from Pedrose and hors d’oeuvres from Sen.  The event was an excellent opportunity to interact with and meet the adoptable cats and dogs and to continue to educate about ARF’s mission to save and enrich lives.
