The Bridgehampton Museum Premieres Its Distinguished Author Lecturer Series

Outstanding Evenings for Local History Lovers and Book Readers!

The Bridgehampton Museum is thrilled to announce the premiere of its Distinguished Lecturer Series.

This bimonthly series presents informal talks with noted authors, historians, and poets about their work and process. The discussions will take place on alternating Thursdays, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The series began on April 7th and marks the museum’s reopening after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19.

“We are thrilled about this series – thrilled to be hosting an exceptional group of incredibly accomplished authors and historians whose participation will ensure that our very first public program will be a powerful and interesting series,” said the museum’s Executive Director, Nina Rayburn Dec.

The series will kicked off with Sagaponack farmer, author, ceramicist, and Southampton Press columnist Marilee Foster (“Dirt Under My Nails”), who read from a selection of her work and spoke about her inspiration and process.

Other esteemed speakers will include journalist CNN political commentator John Avlon (“Lincoln and the Fight for Peace”), journalist and author Amanda Fairbanks (“The Lost Boys of Montauk”), historian and cultural author Tom Clavin (“Lightning Down”), Shinnecock historian and cultural advisor Shane Weeks (“Good Neighbors”), farmer and poets Scott and Meegan Chaskey (“Birdsong Under The Wisdom Tree”), among others.

A Q&A, book signing, and a wine and cheese soiree will follow each 40-minute talk. Tickets are $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Register by going to https://bhmuseumlectures.eventbrite.com, by emailing events@bhmuseum.org, or by calling the Bridgehampton Museum’s Administrator, Lynnette Pintauro at 631.537.1088 x5.
