At ARF Hamptons This Month: September 2026

Animals of the Month

MIKA: Mika is a beautiful 10-month-old kitten with striking markings that make her truly stand out, from the gorgeous pattern across her back to the dark stripe running along her spine. Still a petite kitten, she’s full of curiosity and always ready to turn the simplest toy into an adventure. Whether it’s feather wands, jingly balls, or anything she can chase and pounce on, Mika is happiest when she’s playing. Her playful spirit is balanced by an affectionate side, too. Give her a little attention, and she’ll happily let you scoop her up before settling comfortably into your lap for some quiet cuddles. Mika came to ARF through our Operation Cat program and is now looking for the loving family she’s been waiting for. If you’re searching for a kitten who will keep you smiling with her playful antics and melt your heart when it’s time to relax, Mika is ready to make your home her own.

SCOOTER: Scooter may be a senior, but this sweet boy still has plenty of pep. After the passing of his beloved owner, Scooter found himself back at ARF, and now he’s hoping to find another loving family to call his own. Scooter is a gentle, sensitive soul who takes a little time to warm up to new people, but a few treats and a little patience go a long way toward earning his trust. At 9 years young, he knows his commands, walks beautifully on a leash, and has done well living with other dogs. Because loud, busy environments can make him feel uneasy, Scooter would thrive in a calm home where his gentle nature is understood and respected. With kindness and consistency, his affectionate personality quickly shines through. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a kind heart and plenty of love left to give, Scooter is ready to meet you.
