Pay What You Can Legal LLC

 by Sue Giustino

An inspirational concept by one of the Montauk Music Festival’s Performers, John Sparling of The Om-en

Established in September of 2025 this company in conjunction with the Sparling Law Group (https://sparlinglawgroup.com/) was created to give back to the community and to send gratitude into the universe for all the amazing success they’ve have had in the law and life over the last 37 years.

Recognizing that the legal field, unlike the medical field, has almost no available insurance options to help people in their moment of need, their hope is that this will lead to truly transform the industry to help those get the legal services in their moment of need.

The Om-en, a homegrown LI spiritual rock band with a classic sound and a positive message, have played some of the largest music festivals on Long Island including the Great South Bay Music Festival (14 years running) and this will be the 8th consecutive performance at the Montauk Music Festival. Spiritually motivated, the group match all proceeds from gigs and album sales to teen suicide prevention and child meditation causes, while also supporting all legitimate charity events with a donation of their performance. Their original song ‘Forever Came Too Soon’ tells the personal tale of a young life and all the love lost way too early.

“We are the Good Omen. We want to change the world one spiritual positive message song at a time. We want to ‘Lift You Up’, show you that ‘You Are a Mountain’, live your life to the fullest now and not in ‘Your Next Life’, that ‘Forever Comes Too Soon’. Check out our New Songs this year on all streaming platforms ‘Hey Trey’ and ‘The One and Only’.”

Is it any surprise that a member of this band would also create an outlet for people who need support when faced with turmoil. Affordable Legal Services for Everyone– “If you really need the help, we will work to get it done within your means.”

“In the first 6 months of our inception, Pay What You Can Legal has successfully resolved many diverse matters for those in need. This month, we resolved a dispute lasting over six years involving a very seriously disabled woman where two prior lawyers were unsuccessful in handling her social security disability case. We now have an order finding her disabled and her first monthly check to assist in her care has been received. We also won the divorce qdro issue where the defendant pilfered his annuity, hid his pension and the plaintiff now has the money she was entitled to after 10 years. Pay What You Can also has successfully resolved a residential construction defect case where the contractor failed to properly/fully install high end ornamental windows for over two years, and another issue involving building code violations for a homeowner getting the town to drop all but one of six violations and drop the fine on a lesser code by 75%.”

John Sparling is the founder of Pay What You Can and has been involved in complex legal matters for over 40 years. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-sparling-a077303)  Most of the work for Pay What You Can is done by the Sparling Law Group. (https://sparlinglawgroup.com/) Working together, they will get your legal needs met within your means. In some instances, this will be done free of charge to those truly in need or a discount service if appropriate and needed.
