Animals of the Month
LION: Lion is a mellow, dignified gentleman who has a heart full of love. With his soft orange coat and soulful amber eyes, he brings a quiet charm to every room he enters. Lion came to ARF when his longtime owner could no longer care for him, and now he’s looking for a peaceful home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by kindness. At 10 years old, Lion is incredibly affectionate and will gladly curl up in your lap or sit quietly by your side. As one of our Diamonds in the Ruff, he requires a little extra care: he has diabetes and receives insulin injections twice a day and has a prescription diet; however, he’s incredibly patient and cooperative during care. If you’re someone with a gentle heart and a calm home, Lion will reward you with endless devotion and companionship.
PRINCESS: At just a year and a half old, Princess is already learning what it means to start over. Rescued from a commercial breeding operation, she’s one of 200 dogs given a second chance and one of 21 brought to ARF with the help of the Bissell Pet Foundation and National Mill Dog Rescue. Princess didn’t grow up with love, safety, or care, and as a result, she’s still cautious around new people and unfamiliar environments. But beneath her timid exterior is a gentle heart that longs for connection. What Princess needs most is a calm, quiet home where she can decompress and learn what it feels like to be safe. With time, she will blossom into a loyal and loving companion.

ARF’s ANNUAL BOW WOW MEOW BALL: Saturday, August 16th by Debra Rose
ARF (The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons) will hold their annual Bow Wow Meow Ball this August 16th, a popular fundraiser to celebrate the animals that bring joy to our lives.
An elegant evening of dinner and dancing, the event will be held at ARF’s William P. Rayner Training Center in East Hampton to honor Ellen and Chuck Scarborough. Known for supporting ARF for 25 years, the Scarborough’s have hosted events, served on ARF’s board and committees and rescued ARF’s animals of their own, and have been a vital force in the success of ARF. The evening will include cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the garden followed by dinner, dancing, live auction and a parade of the adorable cats and dogs of ARF.
Animals featured are Lion a soft orange coat cat and Princess a young dog that was one of a phenomenal 21 dog rescue brought to ARF from a puppy mill. For more information on the event, animals available for adoption at ARF and the organization, please visit bowwowmeowball.organd arfhamptons.org
