Animals of the Month
MONCHY: Handsome two-year-old kitty Monchy has come a long way since arriving at ARF Hamptons last month from a hoarding situation. Today, he is a friendly, playful boy who enjoys treats, pets, and spending time with other cats. While Monchy can still be a little reserved when faced with new people or surroundings, once he feels comfortable, his sweet personality begins to shine. He loves attention, appreciates a gentle approach, and is learning every day that people can be trusted.
Watching him blossom has been incredibly rewarding, and we know the right family will discover what a wonderful companion he is. If you’re looking for a handsome feline friend with a gentle heart, Monchy may be the perfect addition to your family.
GUMBO: Gumbo is a sweet, active one year old who is ready for a fresh start. He first arrived at ARF as a puppy from South Carolina and was adopted, but through no fault of his own, he has found himself looking for a new family. While he may be a little shy at first, once Gumbo gets to know you, his affectionate and loyal personality shines. He loves spending time with his people and would do best as the only dog in the home, where he can enjoy all the love and attention. With a little patience, Gumbo will reward you with endless companionship, adventures, and unconditional love.

The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons Host BOW WOW MEOW BALL
The Champion of Animals Award to be presented to Lisa McCarthy for her extraordinary impact on ARF and her lifelong compassion for animals.
On Saturday, August 15 the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF Hamptons) (www.arfhamptons.org) will host the Bow Wow Meow Ball in the William P. Rayner Training Center. The evening will honor Lisa McCarthy with the Champion of Animals Award, in recognition of her decades-long dedication, leadership and compassion for the animals who depend on us.

Lisa joined the ARF Board in 2003 and served as President for eight years, helping to guide the organization through a period of significant growth. Beyond her board leadership, Lisa collaborates with her fellow board member and co-founder of Everyday Elegance, Alex Papachristidis, to elevate the Bow Wow’s guest experience and decor every year.
Lisa’s leadership in animal welfare extends to her role as Vice President of the Humane Society of Vero Beach. In 2007, she and her husband Brian, earned their private pilots’ licenses and flew numerous missions for Animal Rescue Flights.
The evening’s celebration of ARF’s life-saving work for over 50 years will take place on the 22-acre campus in East Hampton. Guests will enjoy cocktails followed by dinner catered by Olivier Cheng within an elegant setting. Chuck Scarborough will emcee the evening with Harry Santa Olalla serving as auctioneer. Afterwards, the party will continue with dancing to music by GR1FN. Over 400 high-profile guests from New York and the Hamptons are expected to attend the magical night. All proceeds will benefit ARF Hamptons, a leader on Long Island for the rescue and adoption of cats and dogs.
The animals in ARF’s care come from animal control centers, high kill shelters across the country, and from people who can no longer care for their pets. ARF provides full medical care, including spaying and neutering, to all its animals in addition to humane care for their basic needs. Once medically evaluated and socialized, the dogs and cats are made available for adoption at its Adoption Center in East Hampton. Over the last 50+ years, tens of thousands of cats and dogs have received compassion, food, shelter, medical care, training, and ultimately their forever homes with new families through the committed efforts of ARF’s staff and volunteers.
Joining in the festivities this year will be a group of ARF cats and dogs available for adoption. The Bow Wow Meow Ball event is an important evening as it raises funds that are vital to the organization and its mission.
The Bow Wow Meow Ball has reached capacity, and ticket sales are now closed. While the event has reached capacity, there is still an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. In lieu of purchasing a ticket, supporters are encouraged to make a donation to support ARF’s lifesaving rescue efforts. Every gift helps provide food, shelter, medical care, training, and second chances for cats and dogs in need.
Thanks to the generosity of our community, the event is sold out! ARF is deeply grateful for the community’s extraordinary generosity and commitment to helping homeless animals find the loving homes they deserve.
