During the 1911 cholera epidemic, Gustav von Aschenbach visits Venice, finding the experience liberating and uplifting, and somehow becomes fascinated by Tadzio, the young son of Polish tourists. Though Aschenbach’s obsession is intense, he neither touches or speaks to him, and the two exchange nothing more than occasional glances. The Montauk Library will be screening this one hour film which is about the continually evolving story of the men and women who’ve fished and farmed the land and seas of the East End of Long Island for almost 400 years. Struggling to survive in the midst of the mansion filled Hamptons, they may well be the last of their kind.

We will be joined by Director Produced Joanne Friedland Roberts to introduce the film and answer questions.
