Animals of the Month
LIZZY: Lizzy came to ARF after the loss of her beloved owner, and she is ready to bring her gentle spirit into a new home. With her endearing resemblance to Mermaid Man from SpongeBob, Lizzy may be a senior, but she is full of warmth and far from grumpy. At 14-years-old, she has truly mastered the art of love. Lizzy is happiest in a quiet setting where she can enjoy lap time, soft pets, and peaceful companionship. The moment you sit down, she will be right there, climbing into your lap as if she has been waiting just for you. She leans into every touch, purring contentedly and making it clear that being close to her person is all she needs. Lizzy has a way of turning a simple evening on the couch into something meaningful. She is gentle, devoted, and endlessly affectionate, a perfect match for someone looking for a calm and loving companion.
BIG BEN: Big Ben has been winning hearts ever since he arrived at ARF, making his way from South Carolina with help from our friends at Fostering Foster Animal Rescue. This big, fluffy Saint Bernard mix just turned four and brings a wonderful mix of charm, brains, and playful spirit. He loves being around people and happily soaks up affection, always ready for pets and attention. Big Ben is smart and enjoys a good challenge, especially games and puzzle toys that keep him thinking. He already knows his commands and walks nicely on leash, making him a great companion for both outings and downtime. With his playful energy, Big Ben will do best with a family ready to continue his training and provide structure along with plenty of love. He can be selective with other dogs, but with the right match and guidance, he truly shines. Big Ben is ready to be part of the fun and share his big heart with a home of his own.
