The Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation and the East Hampton Town Board held its Ceremonial Ribbon Cutting at the Montauk Playhouse on Friday, August 15.  The event offered the public its first look at the Playhouse’s new first-floor Aquatic Center and second-floor multi-use Cultural Center. The ceremony’s program celebrated this milestone, honored those who made the project possible, and featured remarks from Town and State officials, including New York governor, Kathy Hochul.

Foundation President Jennifer Carney Iacono stated: “After years of planning, partnership, and perseverance, the vision for the Montauk Playhouse Aquatic and Cultural Centers is finally coming to life. This milestone is a tribute to the unwavering support of our community—every volunteer, donor, neighbor, and friend who helped bring this dream to fruition. We are deeply grateful for the generosity shown over the years and for our strong public-private partnership with the Town of East Hampton, which has made it possible to realize this essential project to complete the historic Montauk Playhouse for our community.”

Thank you to the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation, to every volunteer who gave their time, every donor who gave what they could, and every neighbor who stood behind this vision. The new Aquatic and Cultural Centers is a gathering place for all, rooted in community, and shaped by shared effort.”

The Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation sends a sincere thank you to everyone who joined in the celebration of this milestone and their gratitude to the hundreds of volunteers and thousands of donor who have so generously given their time, energy, and resources to this essential community project. The Town and Foundation also extend their sincere appreciation to the State of New York for its generous grant funding support which played a vital role in completing construction of the Montauk Playhouse Community Center.
