9th Annual Montauk Music Festival, May 17-20, 2018

Some Returning Musicians:

DAYS OF WILD was born out of mutual love for funk and specifically the funk of Sly Stone, Prince and James Brown. Founding member Papa Guyo Guyocious once played with Sly himself in 1983 and for Prince at Paisley Park in 2001. For 18+ years DOW has not only made a name for themseleves in the NYC music scene but also around the world in places like the French West Indies and Italy. DOW features musicians from all over the world including Japan, Phillipines, Argentina as well as the United States.

JONATHAN FRITZ’S music has taken Jonathan around the world and his songs are pieces of his life lived on this planet. Most people know him as an electric guitarist and this has been his weapon of choice for most of his career, but the last few years, he has been obsessed with Spanish/Flamenco music and nylon acoustic guitar.

REMEMBER SEPTEMBER: A band that is quickly making a name for itself across the Northeast and referred to as an acoustic rock band from Connecticut, remain open to whatever style of music they can find as their sound continually evolves.

MEGAN LEONARDO is a singer/songwriter from Montauk New York. Born with a passion for music, she decided to pick up a guitar and start playing. Now her passion is bigger than ever as she shows off her music to any who will listen. www.facebook.com/MeganLeonardoSongs

MONTAUK PROJECT: The Montauk Project is an original rock band hailing from the East End of Long Island, NY. Formed in 2011 by original members Jasper Conroy and Mark Schiavoni, the band continually blows minds one show at a time “Raining down guitar solos like a steady downpour from a raging storm”. Compared to the black-blue-purple styles of Seattle grunge filtered through 90’s Alt and brought forward a couple decades, the band serves up an ice cold shot of classic hard rock with a twist of Psychedelia. Having shared the stage with artists ranging from The Marshall Tucker Band to The Growlers, and pulled their inspiration all the way from Led Zeppelin to Nirvana to The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tame Impala, the band has made multiple appearances at showcases from SXSW to CMJ, dazzling spectators along the way. Now joined by Josh LeClerc and Dave Guissipone, the boys have hit the studio again, collaborating to create a new electronic element to add to their already unique sound. Stay tuned for their upcoming release in 2017! (Check out The Montauk Project: Facebook.com/themontaukproject, Instagram: @themontaukproject, iTunes: The Montauk Project- Belly of the Beast)

NICOLE STELLA is a young singer and songwriter from Lake Maggiore (Italy). At a very young age she discovers her passion for American and Italian folk songwriters, who inspire her to play with words and music herself. After studying classical piano for several years, and then the guitar, at the age of 16, she is accepted at the Conservatorio “Cantelli” in Novara, where she attends an Opera singing course. She discovered her passion for a new genre and studies Jazz Singing, improving her vocal technique under the guidance of well-known Italian singer Francesca Ajmar. From 2013 to 2015 Nicole lives in London, where she finally realizes that her purpose is singing and writing. In London, she performs in various important venues, such as Zebrano and the Southbank Centre. In 2016 she is also invited to take part to important national events, such as Festa della Musica and Buscadero Day. On March 20th 2017, Nicole releases her second album, “Something To Say”, a collection of original songs about freedom. It is described as an interesting mix of classic rock, folk and electro-pop by American music blog Divide and Conquer. In May 2017, Nicole performs at the Montauk Music Festival in Long Island and successfully presents her music to the American audience, playing important New York venues, such as Pianos, The Bitter End and The Delancey. Nicole is now working with Italian guitarist Massimo Ceravolo at a project on Vivienne Haigh-Wood and is writing songs for an upcoming album.

CODY JOE HODGES’ music has been described as “real country”, influenced by some of the country greats from the late 70’s and 80’s – George Strait, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson (just to name a few). With his thrilling, high-energy performance, it is rare that you will find someone that reaches across the aisle to both the old and new generations, but Cody Joe Hodges does it every time. Cody Joe Hodges’ voice ranges from silky smooth to raspy seduction. Cody Joe’s sound is something out of the past, and his writing style of the here and now. Cody Joe is a former member of the U.S. Army Military Intelligence. Stationed in Ft. Carson, CO for activity duty, his musical talents welcomed an invitation to audition for the Army vocal ensemble group, “Harmony In Motion.” Landing the audition, Hodges toured with the group performing at various, large entertainment events and private military functions. www.codyjoehodges.com

TRAPPED IN STATIC (TIS.) made their New York City debut in 2011 as an alternative rock/indie band featuring singer/guitarist Athan Hilaki (formerly of GAD.) and drummer David Torres. Athan’s dynamically strong vocals feature a falsetto and a hint of raspy power that are often compared to vocal legends like Bono, Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain, Eddie Vedder and Scott Stapp. David’s drum rhythms take their influence from Kings Of Leon, Phoenix and Interpol. The core of the band is completed with Gina Rebelo on bass (formerly of Three Day Threshold) and influences from Bootsy Collins to John Paul Jones, creating the foundational surge for the listener to truly become part of the music. Using the depth of life experiences as inspiration for their lyrics, the band strive to connect with the listener through rock-and-roll infused messages of overcoming obstacles with a tinge of sorrow-filled hope.

They are best known for their chemistry and the interplay of their vocals that complement each other in harmony, rhythm and tone to seemingly create one melody. The duo’s “blood harmonies,” an unusual and tight blending of voices, invoke nostalgic vibes from audiences who fondly recall Heart and the Everly Brothers even as their repertoire packs together several hours of their original songs and covers of popular artists from today and back-in-the-day.   bit.ly/ceciliagracepresskit
