The Third Annual Montauk Film Festival

The Montauk Film Festival is gearing up again this Summer to host a jammed packed, two weekend-long festival, July 22nd – 24th and July 29th – 30th.

The Festival Kick-off Party will be Thursday, July 21st, hosted by Surf Lodge, from 5-7pm with specialty Montauk Film Festival Cocktails.

MFF is thrilled to present Opening Night, Friday, July 22nd at Solé East Resort, with creative giant, director Peter Hamblin and pro-surfer Albee Layer both in the house to introduce their latest film, Sweet Adventure. Q & A with Peter and Albee to follow. Opening party begins at 6pm, with special guest DJ Bailey spinning vinyl. Cocktails offered by Dos Hombres, and Montauk Distilling Co., and pre-purchased dinner/movie tickets available.

The awards and Closing Party will be Sunday, July 31st, at 7 pm at George’s Lighthouse Café, sunset.

Montauk Film Festival is proud to present official selections for MFF22 to include:

  • Finding Sandler – By David Seth Cohen – Screening and Q&A Saturday, July 23rd
  • Fresh Water – Directed by Ian Planchon, Lynn Melling
  • Silent Partner – Directed by Aristotle Torres
  • One All The Way – Directed by David Baram
  • Nā Kama Kai – Directed by Ju Martins

Montauk Film Festival will screen at 3 exclusive locations in Montauk:

  • The grounds of the historic Second House Museum – every festival night from 5pm – 7pm
  • Sole East – Opening weekend, July 22-24, screenings begin at 8:30pm; panels prior
  • Hero Beach Club – Second weekend, July 29th & 30th, screenings begin at 8:30pm; panels prior

Movie-goers should bring picnic blankets and chairs to enjoy movies under the stars.

  • Sunday, July 24th, a night dedicated to Women In Film, with panel moderated by a NYWIFT member
  • Panel discussions and Q & A’s will take place throughout the Festival; check schedule for information.

MFF is also dedicated to supporting and promoting Long Island filmmakers. This year MFF has selected a number of these films, including:

  • The Girl In The Straw Hat – David James Schultz
