Paul Snyder’s Inshore Journal: September 2021

It was August 17th, in five days tropical storm Henri would be upon us, but on the Tuesday before Henri, the fish were chewing. Robert and his family were aboard Captain Dan’s 36 foot Calvin Beal. After catching a dozen nice sized keeper Black Sea Bass and a dozen or more keeper scup, we decided to put one of the scup out alive on a circle hook and it was “game on” with big Striped Bass. In four drifts we boated four beautiful Bass that swam away unharmed. The tide wasn’t running hard and with “socked up” drags the fish weren’t stressed much. It was quite a way to end an unforgettable trip.
