As repeat visitors, we always try something different. Our choice of appe tizers was the coconut shrimp and lobster cakes. Both were expertly prepared and tasty. That evening the Chicken Saltim bocca caught my eye and what a fabulous choice it was. Two large pieces of sauteed chicken breast with sliced prosciutto ham, diced tomatoes in a sherry wine sauce and topped with melted mozzarella over linguine. Every bite was a sensory delight! Having a difficult time deciding from the Blackened Swordfish, Spicy Tuna, grilled salmon, or the sauteed shrimp scampi my husband finally opted for the scampi and came up with another winner. Jumbo, succulent shrimp with fresh tomatoes and spinach in a light cream sauce with lemon garlic, shallots and white wine served over linguine was so delicious that I reached over to taste it for myself after hearing his repeated praise about the meal. Another positive note about O’Murphy’s is the varied din ner selections that range from pasta, poultry meat and of course Montauk vis itors’ favorite, seafood. The night we ate, the dining room was full and guests con tinually entered. No matter the tastes of each diner; there is something for every body in the party to enjoy. Grilled pork chops, Hungarian beef goulash, 24 oz Porterhouse steak and barbecued ribs add to the choices mentioned above. Also a hit is their creation “The Montauk Beach Salad” chocked filled with eight in gredients and delectable Apple Cider vinaigrette. Diners can also add grilled chicken, salmon or shrimp on top of the salad, which is quite popular. As we were deciding what to pick, within 30 minutes of our arrival six more tables were filled on this week night attesting to the popu larity of O’Murphy’s. Patrons also look forward to the Early Dinner Special served Tuesday-Thursday from 5-6 pm which includes soup or salad and entree for $17.95.
