Fishing Montauk with Captain Skip

Fishing Montauk

Summer is right around the corner and it can’t come quick enough. Fluke fishing has been somewhat spotty, with the water temperature still a bit cool. One day they are under the Radar, then down the beach on the South side, they just got to settle in and they will eventually. Some small Striped Bass have been seen coming up the beach, they are plentiful back west and with the water temperature rising things will start hopping. This past winter was so brutal things are going to take a little more time to get back to normal. Hopefully these warmer days will warm up the water quickly and the action will start popping. Lots of bait back west are working their way to us, that’s when tl1e fishing really turns on. Off shore water is teeming with baitfish, further south and west off the North Carolina coast huge schools of Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi) are being reported. That could be a great sign for us. Last season the offshore fishing picked up from what it was the past few years. We’ll keep you posted. The fun is about to start, so make sure your all ready!
