East End Inshore Journal with Paul Snyder

October 2020

The transition from Summer to Fall always brings weather challenges. After three days of wind and high seas, Captain Dan and I were able to take Bob & his family out on Thursday September 17th. On a beautiful day with light west winds and an incoming tide, Bob and his family caught 5 different species all on one type of lure. They caught Bluefish, Porgies, Sea Bass, Sea Robbins & Striped Bass with diamond jigs as dolphins swam bye. It was magical.

With 5 named storms inhabiting the waters from the Azores off Portugal to the North Atlantic, the Summer ended with a bang. As I write this, it’s been 6 days of steady wind. Looks like this Thursday is the ticket. Nothing like the anticipation of the next trip. Hope they’re chewing non-stop like last week.
