Montauk Lighthouse Café…
A New Shop Opens at Montauk Point State Park
by Evelyn J. Mocbeichel

What’s new this season up at the Lighthouse and State park is the addition of a new café and gift shop. Owners Steve and Kate Loschen opened their Lighthouse Café in May for its first season. They also have another shop at the Hither Hills General Store at the state campgrounds. This is good news for visitors to the state park or lighthouse that get hunger pangs and are so far from town. The Lighthouse Café offers burgers, seafood selections such as fried shrimp, calms, calamari, New England Clam chowder as well as other tasty snack foods and beverages.

Stop in and take a peek at their gift shop selections while you are there. You will find souvenir gift items such as tee and sweats shirts, mugs, Native American jewelry, framed Montauk Photographs by Eddie Cassella and an assortment of children’s novelty items. Looking for nautical themed items, don’t miss the pendants created from real shark’s teeth and the charming selection of wind chimes. Stop by and enjoy a snack sitting outside at their café tables enjoying the best view of the Montauk Point Lighthouse you will see while having a bite to eat!
