| The 20th annual East End Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, Inc (PPHP) fundraiser was an overwhelming success thanks to the outstanding behind the scenes work that went into planning this year’s fabulous event. Held at the breathtaking Sag Harbor estate of hosts, Lisa and Richard Perry, the affair was well attended by enthusiastic guests and patron supporters. The auction included pop-inspired items that ranged from fashion, furniture and art, giving onlookers a chance to relive a happy past and reflect on some of the beauty of trends from a bygone era. Lisa Perry was a warm and friendly host as she chatted with guests throughout the cocktail party and gave the opening welcome before the auction began. Herself an avid collector of vintage fashions from the 60’s, Mrs. Perry recently launched a clothing line under her own label. Looking adorable in a mini dress, with the word POP on the front, she epitomized the party’s theme in an eye catching fashion!
Auction pieces included works by Roy Lichtenstein, Alexander Calder, Bert Stern, Steuben, Emilio Pucci, Geoffrey Beene and Marimekko. In total $600,000 was raised that day. The highest-grossing item at the live auction was Roy Lichtenstein’s The Oval Office at $42,000, while a signed poster of Roy Lichtenstein’s Knock, Knock, commanded $22,000, and Robert Indiana’s Decade Autoportrait 1961 sold for $16,000.
Also on hand for the event was Cecile Richards, President and CEO of the National Planned Parenthood, PPHP Reina Schiffrin, and Lisa Winjum, Director, Public Relations and their gracious and professional staff helping to make sure the event ran smoothly.
