| Yoga and Massage Come Together for the Community
Montauk has its magic, luring people from near and far to experience the healing and rejuvenating effects of our landscape, seashore, history and community. Now, three wonderful women from Montauk have joined forces to create Sangha, translated from Sanskrit as a place of community, and translated in reality as a beautiful yoga studio and day spa.

Jeannine Logie, Jenny Baker and Deborah Thompson, all impassioned with the healing arts and dedicated to sharing a peaceful and nurturing way of being with their fellow Montaukers and her visitors, are bringing a plethora of yoga classes, special workshops, massage, facials and more to our shores.
Taking the idea of their namesake seriously the women are introducing Sangha as a place “that welcomes all members of community to come and share their unique talents, and ideas and to let us know what they would like to see and experience here.” explains Jeannine, a lifetime resident and enthusiastic yogi and supporter of holistic living. Adds Jenny, “we are starting with a foundation of many different yoga options and the wonderful services Deborah offers. We are totally open to grow in ways that support the people and visitors of Montauk.”
As Deborah sees it “What could be more cohesive than to offer massage where yoga is happening. It’s total mind, body, spirit and I believe this resonates with a lot of people.” Furthering their commitment to holistic choices, the studio sells and Deborah uses, organic skin products by Pangea the only 100% organic beauty line that uses first ever technology to create their packaging using 100% post consumer paper and an innovative zero-waste process. As Jeannine notes, “It’s absurd that yogis and anyone else who exercises to detoxify the body by sweating would then slather their skin, the largest organ of the body with chemicals and carcinogens. We are so proud to offer this product and service to our community.”
Sangha is a year-round operation and has put in place some great introductory offers for both yoga and day spa services, special workshops as well as discounted classes for locals. Some of the current offerings include, a free yoga class with facial and buy three get one free for new yogis. As well, the new fall schedule includes: pilates, goddess bellydancing, and kirtan on Friday nights at 8pm. Kirtan is donation only and there is a free beginners class and a free class for teens on Tuesdays.
Upcoming exciting workshops include intimacy and sacred sexuality on the weekend of October 12th and an astrology workshop on the weekend of October 27th. Find out more by calling Sangha at 631 238 5450, or visiting www.sanghayogamontauk.com, or dropping by at 12 S. Etna Ave (behind Herb’s Deli). You are always welcome.
