Star Island Yacht Club held its 23rd Annual Shark Tournament on June 19th and 20th this year. There were 140 entries with a total payout of $450,000. Anglers weighed in a total of 17 fish including 4 threshers, 4 mako, and 9 blue. The total number released was 347.
The Long Island Council of Churches Food Pantries were a big winner too with 750 pounds of fish donated.
Sponsors for the event included New York Marine Electronis, Suffolk Marine, Yan Mal Engines, Scott Financial Services, Atlantic Detroit Diesel, Shimano Fishing Reels, and Clare Rose.
