Seasons Change...
The Colour Palette For Fall 2009
with Pamela Taylor

Say goodbye to summer, and hello to fall! With the change of season upon us, fall weather may bring with it colder, harsher weather, which may result in dryer, environment for the face, As a Makeup Artist, my number one priority is having the proper “canvas” which is the skin. Protecting the skin from weather extremes and harsh soaps and chemicals is key! As the cooler weather approaches, it is still important to use a sunscreen. As long as the sun is bright, sunburn, resulting in skin damage can occur. With the cooler weather approaching, remember to take care of your precious facial skin. Refer to my Tips for healthy skin column, for more details, or write info@pamelataylor.com

Makeup looks that are being featured this fall are Light to Dark, Soft to Strong, high contrast applications.

An example is a rich jewel toned violet liner, against a pale matte white eye shadow. Or deeper eyes in Jewel inspired colors, paired with a softer matte lip colour.
On the eyes, the best colors for fall are deeper and bolder. Apply a Smokey Grape Shadow, (very popular color this season, which works well on many eye-colors. Hints of Metallic highlight contrasts well with deeper smokier shades. For a natural effect, opt for more natural shades of contour color. Deep Forest Green, Sapphire Blue and Rich Cinnabar, are nice choices. Combine the deeper color to contrast against the paler or shimmered color. The key to applying eye shadow is to keep the size and shape of the eye in mind, and apply to enhance the feature. Finis with a generous coat of mascara.

On the lips, berry lip stains, and violet lip colors are very popular. Choosing a main feature is key when applying makeup. Do not compete strong eyes with strong lips, vise versa. In the event the eyes are the focus, opt for a softer shade of lip color. The trend is natural skin, soft stained and or accented cheek color, and stronger eyes, and or lips.

With the fashions of clothing this season, featuring details of Ruffles and Royal Colors, your makeup application plays an important role in the entire package!
