Repubican Extravaganza
by Evelyn J. Mocbeichel

Under a warm Montauk summer evening, an enthusiastic crowd of over 200 guests gathered at the Montauk Downs to be part of the Summer Extravaganza, hosted by the East Hampton Republican Committee.  Appetizers, pasta station, open bar and the musical talents of the Phil Hadland Trio and the vocal talents of Patty Graham kept this evening a resounding success.  Door prizes and raffle included a gift from Tiffany, Della Femina dinner for four, Montauk Downs golf for four including cart and breakfast, a basket of cheer, and a home heating oil gift certificate.  This fundraiser was the perfect venue for friends and neighbors to gather and meet this year’s Republican candidates, which included Bill Wilkinson, running for Town Supervisor.  Master of Ceremonies, Jack Graham along with his co-chair Peggy Graham put together a wonderful evening for guests to enjoy.

Ever popular, the honorable John Behan, former member of the State Legislature, opened with a few remarks about the Republican Party and a fascinating history of his political years and serving under Governor George Pataki.  After this opening Bill Wilkinson, Republican Candidate for East Hampton Supervisor, came to the podium to speak to guests about his candidacy in November and to ask for their support.  Republican Candidates running with Mr. Wilkinson are: Town Council, Theresa Quigley and Dominick Stanzione, Town Clerk, Fred Overton, Town Justice, Richard “Andy” Hammer, Town  Tax Assessor, Eugene DePasquale, Superintendent of Highways, Thomas D. Talmage, Town Trustees – Diane McNally, Timothy Bock, Joe Bloecker, Norman Edwards, John Gosman, Lynn Mendelman, William Mott, Kayla Talmage.  Stephanie Talmage. Running for County Legislature is Jay Schneiderman.
