Parents and Bedtime Worries

Put your child’s bedrime worries to rest. Parenting xxpert offers helpful tips to ease nighttime anxieties with her interview on www.goodnewsbroadcast.  The interview deals with the following:
School is back in full gear, and both kids’ and parents’ schedules are busier than ever. Despite children’s exhausting activities, half of parents still can find it a struggle to get them to go to bed at night.
A good night’s rest is important to every child, and stress over bedtime anxieties can disrupt the special bonding time spent between parents and children at night.
Judsen Culbreth, award winning magazine editor and parenting expert, shared tips on how to help your kids overcome common nighttime fears and concerns like:
* “I don’t want to go to sleep!” Nine out of 10 parents and kids participate in a pre-bedtime routine, while nearly half of parents can find it a struggle to put their kids to bed. Culbreth offered advice on setting up a simple nighttime routine that deals with distractions and keeps kids on track.
* “I’m nervous about tomorrow!” Anxiety over school and extra-curricular activities can cause kids to toss and turn at night. Learn how to help kids unwind before bed and ease any concerns they may have about the next day.
* “I’m scared of the dark!” The fear of the dark and nightmares makes many kids feel unsafe at night. Culbreth can share creative and effective ways to combat this fear.
* “I’m afraid of wetting the bed!” Five to seven million kids in the U.S. wet the bed, but there are resources and tools that parents can use to make bedwetting just the “speed bump” it is, until kids outgrow it.
