East End Benefits 2009
by Evelyn J. Mocbeichel

It goes without saying that the East End community is the most generous in the country. Throughout the summer season there is an array of benefits, galas and social events whose purpose is to raise money for worthy causes and for those less fortunate.  Most of these fundraisers continue throughout the year, but the majority of them take place during the summer when the East End population swells with summer home owners and guests to the area.  Besides being a charity venue, these events can be glamorous, fun and a wonderful way to enjoy fabulous food, unique activities, fantastic music and very often to mingle with celebrity or prominent guests also attending.

Here is a lineup of some of the great charity events taking place throughout the summer. Read the Montauk Sun and local daily newspapers for additional listings.
